THREE MEMBERS OF GELLERT GLOBAL GROUP
NAMED OFFICERS of AFI and CIAA
ELIZABETH, N.J. – At the Association of Food Industries’ 2012 annual convention held on April 27th, Andy Gellert, President of Gellert Global Group, was elected Chairman of the AFI, and Stephen O’Mara, President of JF Braun, was selected to be AFI’s new Treasurer. These notices were directly followed by the Cheese Importers Association of America’s May 7th announcement that Thomas Gellert, Principal of Gellert Global Group, and Vice President of Atalanta would be the new CIAA President.
The Gellert Global Group consists of several leading North American food importing companies, including Atalanta, Camerican International and J.F. Braun. Gellert Global supplies retailers, distributors, foodservice chains, hotels, cruise lines and food manufacturers.
The Association of Food Industries, formed in 1906, is a trade association representing the interests of the food import industry and select domestic products. It is comprised of a Processed Food Section, Nut & Agricultural Products Section, the North American Olive Oil Association, the National Honey Packers and Dealers Association and domestic and foreign associate member sections.
The Cheese Importers Association of America, Inc. is a non-profit trade association formed more than sixty years ago whose membership comprises the vast majority of the firms engaged in the business of importing, selling, promoting, and distributing cheese and cheese products in the U.S. The CIAA endeavors to support dairy trade, within the context of compliance with international trade agreements, and all applicable US regulations.
